The ONS Innovation Awards encourage the promotion of innovations—whether they be technologies, products, services, processes, or business models.

There are two categories in the Innovation Awards, each with one winner:

• ‍‍‍‍one for larger companies
• one for SME (small- and medium sized enterprises)

The SME Innovation Award, established in 2004, ensures that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can showcase their groundbreaking developments alongside larger industry players. The primary objective of the ONS Innovation Awards is to promote initiatives that contribute to energy transition across all stages of the value chain

Selection process

All applications are assessed by an independent jury, led by Merete Vadla Madland, Pro-Rector for Research, University of Stavanger.

As Jury Chair for the Innovation Awards for the first time, I aim to bring a people- and capability-driven perspective. The ONS Innovation Awards shine a spotlight on groundbreaking solutions that accelerate the energy transition toward a net-zero future. I encourage all innovators — from established leaders to agile SMEs — to nominate their ideas and help shape a more sustainable energy landscape
