A place to stay?
Shuttle buses, house rentals and exploring possibilities for day trips, many options are available to those visiting ONS in August.
"We know that the availability of hotels, apartments and houses is quite dynamic, and that the options available are changing constantly as we get closer to ONS 2024,” says Jon Are Rørtveit, Commercial Director at ONS.
When ONS 2024 starts in August, the city of Stavanger will be filled with visitors from all over the world, and much of the hotel rooms will be booked early on. But, there is a great tradition in Stavanger for house rentals, especially during ONS, and this makes it more flexible, and even less expensive for many visitors.
Easy transport options
As part of the event ONS will provide shuttle buses to many hubs in the nearby region, including the airport. In addition all ticket holders to ONS will be able to travel with Kolumbus (no additional cost), the public transport company in Stavanger and Rogaland county. This makes it easier to explore housing also outside the major hubs/city centre.
“We know many are eager to book their accommodation early, and we encourage use of third-party providers of housing, especially for groups (both small and large). We know there is great interest from citizens of Stavanger to rent out their house and apartment this week, and many of the alternatives are of great quality and short distance from the arena”, Rørtveit adds.
For many across the North Sea Region, day trips are also an option. Both by night train, plane or even ferry from Denmark.
Availability changes continuously
The hotels in Stavanger have different agreements with many of the lage companies in the region, and will, as we get closer to the event, release more rooms from the different quotas reserved.
One way of guaranteeing your access to hotel accommodation is by securing a Full Week Conference pass, this way you will get a dedicated link to hotel booking. The exhibitors are also offered a booking link, on a first come first served basis.
“We expect a lot of visitors from all over the world, and we advise you to explore different options for housing, and not give up of you cannot find anything early on. We know more options will be released continuously,” Rørtveit says.
