Young engagement

The ONS Young Committee has just had its first meeting in Stavanger. The engaged group discussed and gave advice to what they believe is required to attract the young generations to visit ONS in 2020.

-Our ONS Young Committee is instrumental to ONS in many ways. Primarily into our own ability to improve and change the young concept, but most of all to how we attract and communicate to reach the generation of young people from secondary school and up, says President and CEO of ONS Foundation, Leif Johan Sevland.

The committee represents bright young minds currently working for oil and gas operators, banking, founders, start up´s and innovators.

Marcus Risanger, petroleum engineer at Ridge, is one of nine members in the committee. He also attended the committee in 2018.

-It´s a fun and rewarding committee to be in. The ONS Young committee contributes in creating an engaging programme for students and younger. Our mission is to demystify people´s opinion of a ´closed and unachievable sector´, and rather promote how inspiring and developing the energy sector really is, and will continue to be in the next decades. We want to create and facilitate events at ONS 2020 where the young people feel included, have fun and learn a lot about an energy sector in continuous change.
