Narendra Taneja is a New Delhi-based thinker, TV commentator and politician. He is rated as India's top expert on national and international energy issues. He serves as Chairman of the Independent Energy Policy Institute, New Delhi. Taneja is also National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, India’s governing party. He was until recently the Chairman, Energy Security Group, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Chairman of the Energy and Green Economy Working Group – India, of the BRICS Business Council. He has authored and edited three books, including “Mantras for A Golden India” and “Glory.Growth.Goals. – India’s Oil and Gas Industry”. He has authored thousands of articles and commentaries on energy policy, diplomacy, geopolitics, security and energy poverty and empowerment. He served as South Asia Bureau Chief for a number of European business newspapers for over 17 years before quitting journalism. Mr Taneja is a well-known speaker on energy issues. He is regularly invited to speak by universities, think-tanks, conferences, governments and companies from all parts of the world. He read economics, business, commerce, policy, leadership, diplomacy and international affairs at St John's College, Agra in India and at the University of Oslo and the University of Oxford. He lives in New Delhi.
