Erik Sauar is the CEO of Cenate, a company that is developing advanced silicon anode materials that are expected to increase Lithium battery capacity with 20-40 % going forward. Cenate is collaborating with several of the world’s leading battery manufacturers in this development. Sauar started his first solar company in 1997, a company that later merged with others to form REC Group. Sauar was the CTO of REC from 2001-2012, when the company was developed from scratch to nearly 2 bn $ revenue. He has thereafter been actively investing in and contributing to developing multiple start-ups, primarily in the clean technology and advanced materials space. Sauar holds a MSc. in Chem.Eng., an MA in Anthropology and a Dr.techn degree in Physical Chemistry, and is the inventor of more than 35 patents/patent applications.
