The decision of the ONS 2018 Innovation Award Jury:
“Interwell´s Thermite P&A Barrier is a new and innovative approach to the oil and gas industry´s plug and abandonment issue. A radical idea that after efforts, investigations and testing turns into realistic technology.
It has been tested onshore, with impressive results, documenting added value both in terms of efficiency and in environmental impact, and will be a serious contender in an important market. We, the Jury, find Interwell´s Thermite P&A Barrier to be a worthy winner of the ONS 2018 Innovation Award.
Typhonix´ Typhoon Valve System is a new and innovative approach to valves in the oil and gas industry and the technology has wide applicability. As a research-based start-up company Typhonix has showed patience, commitment and invested research efforts together with partners over many years believing in their technology.
The technology has been tested offshore over time, with impressive results, documenting added value both in terms of increased production and in environmental impact, and will be a serious contender in an important market. We, the Jury, find Typhonix´ Typhoon Valve System to be a worthy winner of the ONS 2018 SME Innovation Award”, the Innovation Award Jury said about the two winners.
