China's energy transition- partnering with NUPI

ONS together with NUPI hosted an event on the topic Chinaś energy transition – Facilitating global energy stability.

The event in Oslo 23. October 2019 gathered a high-level audience with good knowledge about China.

The speakers, Xenia Wickett, Vice President of Political Analysis, Equinor, Sverre Alvik, Project Director for the Energy Transition Outlook at DNV GL and Leiv Lunde, Special Adviser on China at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave introductory presentations on the topic, including perspectives on geopolitics and the role of China therein, updates on the energy markets and reflections on globalization.

Changing energy markets

All the world’s energy markets are changing, but hardly any as fast as China’s. The country’s energy transformation is bigger, more radical and accelerated by several urgent drivers for change. These were amongst the main messages delivered by the speakers.

A warm thank you to our great speakers and to NUPI for partnering with ONS and hosting the event.

ONS is truly looking forward to continuing the discussions at various events during the ONS 2020 Conference.
