President and CEO of Petrobras, Pedro Parente, to speak at the ONS Conference
We are proud to announce that Pedro Parente will speak at the Opening Ceremony of the ONS Conference. Petrobras is Brazil’s largest energy company, and one of the most important energy players in South America.
The main theme for the Opening Ceremony is Transition, a concept Brazil has experienced first-hand recently, through political turmoil and changes. How will this influence the energy sector in general, and specifically the oil and gas activity?
Pedro Parente has previously held several government positions, such as Chief of Staff Minister, Minister of Planning, Deputy Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Energy Crisis Management Chamber and a member of the Board of Directors of Petrobras and Chairman of the Board as of March, 2002.
Parente was member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of several private and state-owned companies, including Banco do Brasil and CPFL, one of the biggest electric energy generation and distribution companies in Brazil. In the private sector, served as the Executive Vice President (COO) of the RBS Group, and as President and CEO of Bunge Brazil. Since March 2015, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of BM&FBOVESPA.
