A glittering gift

As a gift to ONS 2010, the Stavanger region’s hotel and restaurant sector will be sponsoring the closing firework display and festival concert. This magnificent boon to all the people of Stavanger will be presented on the final day of the ONS Festival.

“We are doing this to show how much we appreciate ONS”, says Lauritz W. Hansen (pictured), managing director of the Skagen Brygge Hotel.

“Instead of handing over an enormous bouquet in gratitude for the contribution that ONS has made, we will say it with a concert and firework display”.

Hansen goes on to say that the entire sector is very grateful for the benefits that ONS, and not least the festival, has generated.

“They have really got the festival and concert going with a swing, and both attract a huge number of people to the centre”, he says.

In good company

ONS festival manager Aase Tendenes was the first to spur on the hotel and restaurant owners. Lauritz Hansen took inspiration from her and started passing the hat around.

“Most of them said yes at once – both because we are very grateful to ONS and also in recognition of the fact that the oil and gas companies continue to maintain their head offices here in Stavanger.

Hansen hasn’t quite managed to get everyone on board, but if there is anyone out there who wants to sponsor a rocket – just get in touch.

Such donations will grab attention and be remembered.

“This is wonderful news” says festival manager Tendenes. Everyone in the hotel and restaurant trade is helping to create the cultural meeting place that the ONS Festival has now become”.
