A home from home, greater freedom, and cost-effectiveness are just some of the benefits of renting a private house or flat during ONS.

In 2008 as many as 824 private flats were rented by ONS visitors, the majority of which are located at convenient distances from event venues.

“The houses and flats in our inventory are all within walking distance of Stavanger city centre or Stavanger Forum. We have set a 3 km limit, which means that all houses and flats must be located within 3 km of Stavanger city centre and/or Stavanger Forum”, says booking manager Anette Bruvik Sinnes.

Positive feedback
Wayne Jackson is global business development manager for the British company Expro, and has lived in the same house during the last four ONS events. This year, he and three colleagues have asked to rent the same house yet again.

"One of the big drivers for us is that it is cost effective. But it is also very relaxing, we have a good time and we`re all together. We go to the supermarket, and the house is within stumbling distance of the ONS-venue", says Jackson.

Bruvik Sinnes at Stavanger Forum says she has received a lot of positive feedback from the tenants.

“They say that compared with a hotel, they have much greater freedom to socialise with their colleagues. By renting a house

or flat they have access to a fully-equipped kitchen, sitting-room, and an overall high standard in every room”, she says.

Norway and Stavanger share a high standard of living and tenants in private flats and houses will experience high levels of comfort. As in any hotel, towels and bedding are available in all flats and houses, but unlike a hotel, you are completely free to use the rented house or flat as you wish.

Living in private accommodation is also a fantastic way of getting to know the city better.

Cost-effective
Renting a house or flat is not expensive. Prices are based on the number of bedrooms.
A house or flat with a single bedroom costs 1 380 per night, or NOK 6 900 for 5 nights.

Accommodation with two bedrooms costs 1 040 per night, or NOK 10 400 for 5 nights.

In order to book a private house or flat you must complete a "booking form house/flat rental" which you will find on our website.

“Would-be tenants can also contact the booking office at Stavanger Forum by sending an e-mail to bolig@ons.no On receipt of a completed booking form we will search our accommodation inventory for a house or flat that matches the client’s requirements. We will then draw up a contract between the owner and the tenant”, says booking manager Anette Bruvik Sinnes.
