CCS-park

Founding father
  CCS Park at ONS 2010

The CCS Park will be organised around three fundamental themes: technology, economics and politics. Various Norwegian and international institutes, companies and other relevant organisations will be invited to participate.

“The industry, authorities, research institutes – and ONS – must succeed in positioning fossil energy sources at the interface between climate change challenges and the ever-increasing demand for energy. If the global industry is to achieve this, the treatment of CO2 will be one of the decisive factors. We are taking responsibility for demonstrating both how CO2 treatment can be part of the solution, and how organisations around the globe are working to meet an ever-increasing energy demand while continuing to minimise emissions”, says Ursin-Smith.

Risavika Gas Centre

Risavika Gas Centre DA is an independent third party test facility for R&D and industry-scale testing in the fields of natural gas production, transport and downstream gas application. It also conducts the testing of environmentally-friendly technology. The centre was established in 2005 and is owned by Shell, Statoil, Lyse, the International Research Institute in Stavanger (IRIS) and the University of Stavanger (UiS). Since there exists no operational link between Risavika Gas Centre (RGC) and its owners, relevant tests can be performed without infringing our client’s intellectual property rights. RGC was established in 2005 by Shell, Statoil and Lyse Gas in collaboration with IRIS and UiS. Projects have been carried out onsite since 2007, and construction was completed by the end of August 2008. All tie-ins and key equipment were in place by the end of 2009. RGC has its main focus on industrial tests, technology qualification and R&D tests related to gas turbines, hydrogen, CO2 and sour gas, together with tests related to natural gas applications and production.
