“Smart use of technology is key to making our industry more robust in a world of low oil prices, high costs and climate change. The ONS Technical Sessions mirror ONS’ ambition to bring forward technical solutions to the challenges facing the industry today,” says Line Geheb.
She is Asset Manager with Petoro, the company managing the Norwegian State’s Direct Financial Interest (SDFI) on the Norwegian shelf, and chair of the Technical Sessions steering committee.
“Operators and suppliers are equally important in the identification of technology gaps and the development of technical solutions. During the Technical Sessions, we will address the challenges from the problem owners’ perspective, followed by presentations of possible solutions.”
From cradle to grave
The committee, made up of a broad spectrum of technology experts and experienced individuals from operators, suppliers and research organisations, will define the main themes for the various sessions, picking topics through the entire value chain: from reservoir to process and from exploration to decommissioning.
Speakers will be invited to address technological challenges and solutions, highlighting both technology developments and business opportunities.
“ONS Technical Sessions will make it even more attractive to visit ONS as an arena that provides the latest news in technology developments as well as more in-depth understanding of possible solutions to key technical challenges,” Geheb says.
The Technical Sessions will be executed with assistance from the The Norwegian Petroleum Society.
