What to bring
- Clothes for outside temperatures of 13-25 degrees.
- Make sure you pack clothes for summer sun, wind and rain. And don’t forget your glad rags! ─ both your best clothes and casual wear.
- A coat or jacket to keep you from the wind and rain.

- Your ONS tickets (if you’ve already bought them).

The weather
Stavanger has a mild, maritime temperate climate. Our summers are pleasant, but it can get rather windy. The city is both blessed and cursed by the warm Gulf Stream, without which it would be bitterly cold. It gives us mild winters, but also a little rain.

Taxis

Buses
A regular shuttle bus service will run between the hotels and the ONS venue.

- There is an excellent bus network in and around Stavanger.
Green buses run between the ONS venue and Stavanger city centre.
The trip takes 10 minutes and costs about NOK 25.
Trains
Local trains run between Stavanger, Sandnes and Jæren.

To and from the airport
The express bus from Stavanger airport runs every 20 minutes and costs NOK 85.
The trip takes almost 30 minutes.
In a taxi, the same trip takes 15 minutes and costs NOK 250.
Walking
Norwegian roads are pedestrian-friendly. Many of the hotels and apartments/houses are within walking distance of the ONS venue and Stavanger city centre/Festival site.

There is a wide variety of shopping opportunities in the city centre, and in the many shopping centres around town. One of these ─ the Madla Amfi, is just a ten-minute walk from the ONS venue.

Get ready for ONS 2012
- The dates for your diary are 28 – 31 August 2012. The sale of ONS 2012 stand space will start as early as the Thursday of ONS 2010. This year we have been sold out for several months in advance, so make sure that you book early!
