Shell’s CEO Ben van Beurden to speak at ONS 2016

Ben van Beurden is CEO of Royal Dutch Shell, one of the world’s largest companies, and one of the oil and gas ‘supermajors’. We are happy to announce that van Beurden will be one of the keynote speakers at ONS 2016.

Ben van Beurden is head of one of the world’s most interesting and powerful companies. Royal Dutch Shell is the parent company of the Shell Group, a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies with around 94,000 employees in more than 70 countries and territories.

Van Beurden was instrumental in the $70 billion deal to buy BG Group PLC in April, making Royal Dutch Shell stronger than ever. He was also one of the CEOs who signed a letter to governments around the world calling for carbon pricing. Read the letter here.

Keynote speaker at the Opening Ceremony at ONS 2016 At the Opening Ceremony on 29 August 2016 van Beurden will be one of the speakers. He will address the ONS 2016 main theme: Transition. “Ben van Beurden is a visionary and a charismatic leader. He is outspoken and has clear messages about the future of the industry, which makes him a perfect speaker for ONS 2016,” says Leif Johan Sevland, President and CEO of ONS. Van Beurden has been with Shell since 1983, and has experience from both upstream and downstream parts of the business. He held a number of leading positions before becoming CEO of the company in the beginning of 2014.
